LD OLD WORLD STONE COUNTERTOPS

 MIX

Our mix is combination of fine ground limestone, high strength cement, and our own special additives that give our countertops the durability and strength of any fine stone countertop. The end result is a manufactured limestone that looks and feels like real limestone. It actually cures harder than real limestone.

CONSTRUCTION

The base construction of our tops is one of the most important parts.  We start with 3/4" plywood which is glued and then screwed to the cabinets which creates a solid base through out the entire top. We then use 1/8" thick, 4"x4" steel mesh for the interior structure for strength. We then use 1/4" rebar at all edges for added strength.

EDGES

We offer exotic stone or chiseled edges as well as the contemporary granite edges.

STAINING & SEALS

Old World countertops have a realistic stone surface unlike any other in the industry.  We recommend either epoxy or  stonelok seal.  There are other seals on the market to give a semi-gloss look but to get the true colors in the limestone a urethane or epoxy base sealer is recommended.  We are always looking to upgrade our seals and stains to give our customers a durable life long product.
